NUMEDALSLÅGEN LAG

Founded June 17, 1908 in Fargo, ND.

WHAT IS A BYGDELAG (LAG)?

It is an organization - you may even call it a club - of emigrant descendants from a particular area of Norway. The main purpose of the Lag is to preserve and strengthen bonds with its own area of origin in Norway.

WHAT IS NUMEDALSLÅGEN LAG?

Numedalslågen is a river located in the counties of Vestfold and Buskerud in southeastern Norway. It stretches for over 160 miles through the counties of Vestfold and Buskerud, beginning at the Hardangervidda plateau and meeting the ocean at Larvik in Vestfold. Numedalslågen runs through the municipalities Larvik, Lardal, Kongsberg, Flesberg, Rollag, and Nore og Uvdal. Numedalslågen Lag is a lag primarily made up of descendants of people who emigrated from those areas. We do, however, have many members who still live in Norway and also some who just have an interest in Numedal without having roots there.
